The Challenge
The cloud department of the insurance company was tasked with the daunting challenge of managing and optimizing over 700 accounts spread across 38 distinct organizations. This complex structure was primarily due to the need for separate billing entities for each account, leading to increased operational complexity, elevated costs, and delayed time to market for operations, consumption, and platform security initiatives. The company aimed to revamp its cloud architecture to simplify operations, reduce expenses, and accelerate deployment timelines, all while seamlessly migrating existing accounts into a newly designed platform.
The Solution
Keepler proposed the establishment of a new multiregional landing zone solution tailored to address the client’s specific challenges. This innovative approach included segregating different billing entities using advanced tagging functionalities and engaging in a strategic partnership for rebilling purposes. The redesigned architecture, conforming to the Web Application Firewall (WAF) and AWS Solutions Architect’s recommendations and best practices, incorporated critical services such as SecurityHub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, KMS, Service Control Policies (SCPs), and Config Rules to ensure optimal security and efficiency. A significant part of the project involved automating the migration process of existing accounts into this streamlined architecture, enabling the effective utilization of these integrated services.
