Revolutionizing Procurement with Advanced Cloud Data Platform
Compass Group encountered hurdles in streamlining procurement processes due to heavy reliance on a single ERP Database. This hindered accessing, analysing, and integrating diverse data sources, impacting the ability to conduct in-depth data analytics and make strategic decisions, thus limiting operational flexibility and competitiveness in the market.
The primary challenge was effectively tracking and managing purchasing expenses across the company’s catering centers. This included managing expenses by category, center, item, and supplier, as well as tracking expenses by volume, type, and product characteristics. There was also a need for forecasting and conducting exploratory analysis on expenses, trends, stock, and period comparisons. Additionally, consolidating and automating price and profit calculations proved difficult due to reliance on manual processes and multiple sources.
To overcome these challenges, a scalable, efficient, and integrated Cloud Data Platform (CDP) on AWS, with advanced reporting and dashboard capabilities was developed. It required a robust architecture for seamless data exploration, future data sources integration, and dynamic data visualization tools to translate complex data sets into actionable insights.
